About The Position
The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. CHOICE Healthcare Services provides pediatric dental care in the Southwest United States and states that its mission is to provide everyone access to the healthcare they need.
Requirements
- X-Ray certification.
- BLS certification.
- 8-hour Infection Control certification.
- 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification.
Nice To Haves
- Certification from a dental college, three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor during procedures.
- Take x-rays.
- Take intraoral images (IOs).
- Assist with prophylaxis teeth cleaning.
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
- Chart cavities and teeth with the doctor.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Set up, break down, and prepare rooms for treatment and hygiene.
- Chart patient treatment and treatment plans with the doctor.
