About The Position

Under supervision of the Manager, the Dental Assistant provides clinical support for dentists in the General Practice Residency Program. Responsibilities include: chairside assisting, radiographic film taking and processing, room set-up and breakdown and room stocking and maintenance. In addition, other support duties such as coronal polishing and application of pit and fissure sealants are also performed, as requested by the dentists. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years dental assistant.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Current CPR certification. (will provide upon hire)
  • Completion of Coronal Polishing/Application of Pit & Fissure Sealant Course Approved by the Illinois State Dental Society.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside support to dentists using four-handed assisting techniques.
  • Prepare, maintain, sterilize, and stock treatment rooms, instruments, and supplies.
  • Take and process dental X-rays.
  • Assist with lab duties, including creating and handling dental models.
  • Support operating room procedures as a dental scrub nurse when needed.
  • Perform expanded duties such as coronal polishing and applying dental sealants.
  • Complete quality, safety, compliance, and continuing education requirements.
  • Provide additional clinical and operational support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
