About The Position

Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) is seeking a Part-time Dental Assistant to join their team. This role involves providing integrated care through outreach and site-based services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The ideal candidate will be a team player with previous experience in a clinic or hospital setting, particularly with underserved populations. A compassionate understanding of the issues faced by those experiencing homelessness is essential. The DA team works rotating schedules, including field outreach and clinic work, operating from a harm reduction model and a holistic patient care approach within a multidisciplinary team. The organization is passionate about public health and its patient population.

Requirements

• Background in medical or dental (MA, CNA, DA, etc)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Flexibility to work with multiple providers
• Ability to thrive in a complex healthcare setting
• Compassion for and an understanding of the wide variety of issues for those experiencing homelessness is a must.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited dental assistant program with current X-ray certification
• Experience working with underserved populations or people experiencing homelessness
• Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma informed philosophies
• Bilingual or Spanish Speaking

Responsibilities
