About The Position

Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) is seeking a Part-time/Full-time Dental Assistant Apprentice to join their team. This role involves rotating schedules between outreach work in the field and clinic-based services. The organization operates on a harm reduction model, focusing on holistic patient care within a multidisciplinary team. AHCH may cover Dental Assistant Training costs in exchange for a 2-year employment commitment. The organization adheres to OSHA and CDC guidelines for employee safety.

Requirements

• Background in customer service or dental (MA, CNA, DA, etc)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Flexibility to work with multiple providers
• Ability to thrive in a complex healthcare setting
• Compassion for and an understanding of the wide variety of issues for those experiencing homelessness is a must.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited dental assistant program with current X-ray certification
• Experience working with underserved populations or people experiencing homelessness
• Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma informed philosophies
• Bilingual or Spanish Speaking

Responsibilities

• Perform outreach work in the field.
• Provide services in the clinic.
