About The Position

Responsible for coordinating the denial and appeal process in conjunction with care management staff and the Business Office, meeting goals and timelines for appeals, and tracking outcomes. Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines. Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization. Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures. Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs). Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.

Requirements

  • 2-year / Associate Degree in Business Administration or a closely related field. In lieu of an Associate's Degree, a High School Diploma, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in the Revenue Cycle with experience with analytics and denials.
  • 2 - 3 years in a Health Care data analytics and/or application support
  • 8+ years of experience in the Revenue Cycle experience with a concentration in Patient Accounting to include billing, follow-up, denials, and denial recovery.
  • CPAR Certification must be obtained within 20 months of hire.
