About The Position
No Place Like Home Senior Services (NPLH) is seeking a compassionate, experienced caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a gentleman living with advanced-stage dementia in his home. This role is ideal for someone who understands higher-acuity dementia care and can provide consistent, calm, and patient support while maintaining dignity and quality of life. The client lives at home with his wife and their senior dog and requires hands-on care, redirection, and supervision. The goal of this role is to provide safety, comfort, and quality of life through consistency and connection.
Requirements
- Experience with advanced dementia or Alzheimer’s care
- Patient, calm, and dependable
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Must be comfortable with dogs (required)
- Must pass background check and references
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous supervision, companionship, and redirection
- Assist with all ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meals)
- Manage advanced dementia behaviors with patience and skill
- Maintain a calm, structured daily routine
- Support mobility and ensure safety at all times
- Light housekeeping and household support
- Communicate updates to family and agency staff
