Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, business, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years of dynamic and successful demand planning experience with strong and sustained performance, CPG preferred.
• Understanding of forecasting models and logics.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Vlookup/Xlookup/creating PivotTable/data sorting)
• Familiarity with SAP (or other ERP).
• Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data and build quantitative models of business problems.
• Excellent oral and written skills, organizational and time-management abilities, effective inter-personal skills, and the ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and deal with pushbacks as part of building a forecast with cross-functional partners.
• Flexibility and adaptability to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and priorities.
• Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to complex problems that may not have one clear answer.
• Strong knowledge of continuous improvement processes and principles

Nice To Haves

• APICS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Improve the accuracy and reliability of the Demand Plan through projection of the most realistic estimate of customer demand in collaboration with other functions (Sales, Marketing, Finance, eg.) and manage exceptions to enhance the responsiveness of the organization’s Supply Chain in fulfilling customer demand.
• Plan inventory levels that satisfy the customer service target for product availability and that minimize production, transportation, and warehousing costs.
• Review weekly sales and finished goods inventory data and advise marketing and distribution colleagues of unexpected sales trends and/or inventory balances.
• Assist in long-range capacity studies to resolve requirements for new equipment and facilities.
• Act as the communication link between marketing, procurement, transportation, and distribution.
• Ensure commitment from all functions, build, and maintain good communication and collaboration both within Supply Chain and with Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing and Finance.
• Monthly S&OP best practices including highlighting variances vs financial forecast and risks while maintaining and reporting monthly, quarterly, and fiscal forecast KPI’s.
• Capture, prioritize, analyze Marketing and Sales events; customer, consumer & competitor information; other external / internal trends and influences which impact demand.
• Effectively use Demand Planning system to enable an exception-based management approach.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Sales by providing input on a regular basis regarding product launches, portfolio optimization, rationale of commercial decisions, promotions, and customer behavior.
• Use appropriate statistical models and parameters to enrich statistical forecasts and generate accurate baseline demand forecast for 18-month horizon.
• Generate and maintain a demand plan for a given portfolio of products, locations and/or customers, at the levels (product hierarchy and time) at which business decisions are taken.
• Focus on and deliver a stable demand plan, considering recent events, along with achievement of Demand Plan Accuracy (DPA), controlled variability of accuracy and no systematic bias.
• Develop and maintain SOP’s for the Demand Planner role.
• Coordinate and facilitate the monthly Demand/Supply Review meetings; act as Process Owner of this meeting to ensure the process is an integral part of the planning and control process.
• Maintain system to reflect the lifecycle of products (predecessors, successors, temporary promotional.)
• Monitor alerts to identify potential inventory problems through all planning horizons and coordinate efforts to resolve. Run, review and monitor reports and alerts on a weekly / Daily / Basis and act on the alerts to manage by exception, making work efficient.
• Track and report finished goods inventories at IMS and 3PL warehouses.
• Actively follow-up actual sales to customers and sell-out data (POS) to identify exceptional or un-forecasted activities.
• Drive fast, appropriate actions to minimize the impact of deviations from the Demand Plan. Communicate these actions to stakeholders.
• Create and maintain the appropriate master data in the planning systems, minimizing errors, avoiding duplication and obsolescence.
