About The Position

The Demand Planner at TireHub is responsible for developing accurate, data-driven demand forecasts that drive inventory availability, maintain serve levels, and optimize working capital across a tire distribution network. This role works cross-functionally with Sales, Category Management, Supply Planning, and Tire Logistics Centers, and Finance to develop a consensus-based demand plan through the S&OP process. This is a highly visible role that reports to the Demand Planner Leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with large, complex datasets at the SKU-location level.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling, data analysis); experience with WMS or TMS data a plus.
  • Experience with forecasting or planning systems (SAP, Anaplan, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of demand variability, replenishment cycles, and distribution network dynamics.
  • Familiarity with warehouse fulfillment metrics (fill rate, order cycle time, DC throughput) and how they connect to demand accuracy.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills across both operational and commercial functions.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners, including warehouse and operations leaders, without direct authority.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-SKU, multi-DC environment where speed and accuracy both matter.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, tailoring communication with ease to best connect with a target audience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains SKU-location level demand forecasts across TireHub’s distribution full distribution network, including RDC’s and last-mile fulfillment nodes.
  • Incorporates multiple demand drivers: Historical shipment and outbound order trends by DC and lane, Dealer buying patterns, order frequency, and purchase behavior, Seasonality (e.g., winter tire transitions, regional weather-driven demand increase), Promotional and pricing actions, Warehouse capacity and throughput constraints that may shape order fulfillment patterns.
  • Generates a baseline (statistical) forecast and layer in business intelligence to produce consensus-adjusted plan.
  • Continuously refine forecast models and SKU segmentation strategies (A/B/C classification, product lifecycle, regional variability, velocity tiers).
  • Leads or actively supports the monthly Demand Review within the S&OP cycle.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Category teams to capture field-level market intelligence and upcoming demand drivers.
  • Facilitates alignment on: Unconstrained demand plan (true market demand, pre-supply constraints), Distribution network risks and inventory positioning opportunities, Key assumptions tied to dealer activity, seasonal transitions, and DC-level trends.
  • Presents clear, data-backed insights and recommendations to cross-functional and senior leadership.
  • Own forecast performance measurement and reporting, including: Weighted MAPE (wMAPE) at the SKU-DC level, Forecast Bias by product category, region, and distribution node, Forecast Value Add (FVA) to validate statistical vs. adjusted forecast performance.
  • Performs root cause analysis on forecast errors, including: Demand variability driven by dealer ordering behavior, Inbound replenishment timing and warehouse receipt patterns, Promotional lifts and post-promotion demand troughs.
  • Delivers actionable recommendations to reduce forecast volatility and improve fill rate outcomes.
  • Partners with Supply Planning and DC Operations to translate the demand plan into replenishment strategies, inbound scheduling, and DC-level inventory targets.
  • Aligns with Finance on demand assumptions supporting volume forecasts and working capital planning.
  • Works closely with Sales to stay ahead of dealer trends, regional market shifts, and large account activity.
  • Coordinate with Category Management on product lifecycle events: New product introductions and phase-in planning, Phase-outs, replacements, and end-of-life SKU management.
  • Drives continuous improvement in demand planning processes, tools, and governance across distribution network.
  • Standardizes forecasting best practices across regions and product categories.
  • Supports implementation and enhancement of planning systems and inventory visibility tools.
  • Builds scalable demand planning capabilities that support TireHub's growth across its warehouse distribution footprint.
