About The Position

The Demand & Asset Planner is responsible for efficiently managing the supply chain and production planning within our machine shop. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of tasks, including the execution of material requirements planning (MRP), coordinating purchase requisitions, and managing resource allocation. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth operation of preventive maintenance schedules, maintain high kanban fill rates, and work closely with purchasing and manufacturing engineers to meet production goals.

Requirements

  • 1 - 3 year's experience in planning and resource management within a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • 1+ years experience using MRP systems

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and run MRP messages to determine production needs and initiate/manage purchase requisitions.
  • Allocate available resources effectively to ensure optimal production flow.
  • Work with the maintenance supervisor to schedule PM’s on equipment in assigned work centers.
  • Track and report the status of orders, ensuring timelines are adhered to and any potential delays are communicated and addressed.
  • Prepare and manage dispatch lists to guide machinists in their daily tasks.
  • Document and handle all non-conformance matters, collaborating with manufacturing engineers to determine disposition actions.
  • Partner with purchasing teams to procure necessary raw materials timely, ensuring no disruption in production.
  • Maintain and oversee kanban systems to keep fill rates at healthy levels, proactively addressing any issues.
  • Work closely with unit planners to guarantee hardware readiness aligns with on-time production starts.
  • Monitor, analyze, and manage load versus capacity for work centers, being proactive in identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
