About The Position

This role is a 10-month contract position focused on demand forecasting, replenishment planning, purchase order management, and supply chain collaboration. The Demand and Fulfillment Planner will leverage forecasting software to create precise demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales data, trends, and seasonality. They will integrate promotional schedules, marketing campaigns, and market intelligence into forecasting models. The role involves implementing replenishment strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory, and adjusting plans based on market conditions. Additionally, the planner will manage purchase orders, collaborate with suppliers and supply chain teams for timely delivery, and monitor shipment progress. Cross-functional collaboration with vendors, supply chain teams, and other departments is key to streamlining processes, addressing inventory challenges, and ensuring seamless coordination. The planner will also foster a collaborative culture within the POD, share insights on initiatives driving inventory optimization and sales growth, and produce ad hoc reports for improved visibility.

Requirements

  • A degree and/or 5+ years of experience in retail operations, demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain management.
  • Strong intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • A solid understanding of procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution processes.
  • Strong data analysis skills for interpreting sales trends, forecasting demand, and optimizing inventory.
  • Comfortable working in hybrid environments and adjusting to evolving market conditions and business requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain efficient operations across various processes.
  • Skilled in communicating and coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong attention to detail in managing purchase orders, inventory records, and ensuring accuracy in forecasts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL for database management.
  • Experience with VBA for task automation within Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Python for advanced data analysis.
  • Familiarity with forecasting and demand planning software would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage forecasting software to generate precise demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales data, trends, and seasonality.
  • Integrate promotional schedules, marketing campaigns, and market intelligence into forecasting models to better anticipate shifts in consumer demand.
  • Implement replenishment strategies that ensure optimal inventory levels, aligning closely with projected demand, while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Continuously monitor demand patterns and external factors (e.g., economic shifts, supply chain disruptions) and adjust forecasts and replenishment plans accordingly to maintain alignment with changing market conditions.
  • Generate purchase orders by analyzing demand forecasts, sales trends, and real-time inventory data to maximize stock availability.
  • Partner with suppliers and supply chain teams to ensure smooth order processing and timely delivery.
  • Continuously track and manage purchase order progress from initiation to fulfillment, ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Align purchase orders with budgetary constraints and broader organizational objectives to maintain cost-efficiency and meet business goals.
  • Monitor shipment progress in real-time to ensure timely delivery and minimize disruptions.
  • Proactively address inventory risks, such as delays or shortages, to maintain stock levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize purchase order processing and ensure smooth inventory flow from procurement to distribution.
  • Collaborate with vendors, supply chain teams, and other departments to streamline purchase order processes, address inventory challenges, and ensure seamless coordination across procurement, inventory, and distribution.
  • Foster a collaborative culture within the POD to ensure transparent communication and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Share and highlight initiatives that drive inventory optimization, sales growth, and preparedness for peak demand, providing insights and visibility across teams.
  • Provide supporting data and evidence on executed initiatives to demonstrate their impact on inventory optimization and business performance.
  • Produce ad hoc reports to improve visibility into inventory levels, receipt trends, projected requirements, risk management opportunities, and insights for optimizing replenishment planning.
