About The Position

Responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining specialized machinery that embeds Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) inlays into substrates in order to create an RFID label. This role involves ensuring the precise placement, encoding, and functionality of RFID components at high speeds while maintaining quality standards in a production environment.

Requirements

  • 1–3+ years of experience in printing, direct mail, or manufacturing environments, particularly with RFID converting, encoding, or laminating.
  • Ability to work with roll-to-roll or sheet-fed equipment, understanding of paper/film handling, and ability to read job tickets.
  • High level of precision to ensure accurate tag placement and encoding.
  • Occasionally required to kneel, crouch, stoop or crawl as well as lifting/moving from 50-70 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 200 pounds.
  • Proficient in using PCs to manage and monitor jobs.
  • May require flexibility for work times, including overtime.
  • Regular standing, bending, and lifting of materials.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate RFID insertion and label coding equipment, ensuring quality and customer requirements are met.
  • Monitor machinery to ensure proper RFID tag insertion and encoding according to specifications, and ensure production goals are met.
  • Perform in-process checks to verify the accuracy and functionality of RFID tags.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct mechanical or technical issues with equipment, such as jamming or misalignment.
  • Load materials such as adhesive labels, poly films, and RFID inlays into the machine.
  • Record production data, including material usage, labor, and downtime, in company systems.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean work area, and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
  • It is the responsibility of all employees to follow the requirements of their documented process as defined in the ISO Quality Manual and to comply with all RRD policies.
