About The Position

Patene Building Supplies Ltd. is a distributor of drywall, steel framing components, insulation, acoustic ceilings, shingles, masonry and other building materials for the residential and commercial construction industries. We have thirteen branch locations throughout Ontario and Manitoba serving contractor, builder and retail customers. We are not currently hiring for this position at our Kitchener branch. Requirements

High school diploma
Valid Class D driver’s licence with a Z air-brake endorsement
Experience operating a standard-transmission vehicle
Acceptable driver’s abstract and CVOR
One to two years of related experience, preferably in the construction industry
Dependable, safety-conscious and committed to teamwork
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors and customers, both verbally and in writing

Nice To Haves

Valid Working at Heights certification is an asset
Boom or Moffett experience is preferred; training may be provided to the right candidate

Responsibilities

Completing daily circle-check reports and maintaining the company vehicle, including general maintenance, greasing of the boom or Moffett, and cab cleanliness
Verifying loads and paperwork, including the proper loading, tarping and strapping of materials
Completing all daily Ministry of Transportation paperwork requirements
Making safe and timely deliveries and pickups of materials
Loading and unloading materials using repetitive lifting or a boom truck
Providing direction to helpers at customer sites
Providing professional and courteous service to customers and subtrades
Reporting damaged or missing materials and equipment
Following all company health and safety policies and regulations
Abiding by all applicable traffic laws and rules of the road
Performing other duties as assigned by management
