The primary function of the Delivery/Shipping Coordinator is to create trucking routes that keep costs down while meeting customer scheduling needs. This role involves coordinating, distributing, and communicating orders to material pullers for picking, packaging, and loading onto delivery trucks. The coordinator will schedule and manage daily delivery routes, maintain ongoing communication with carriers, and partner with management to adjust routes based on customer needs and operational priorities. Building and maintaining strong relationships with carriers, drivers, sales staff, and customers is crucial. The role also requires monitoring route conditions, responding to last-minute changes, communicating delivery updates or delays, and assisting with order pulling and warehouse operations when required.
