About The Position

The Delivery Manager will coach and manage the delivery operations and the responsibility to handle day-to-day activities while ensuring a high level of efficiency, safety, and service. The Delivery Manager will coordinate and work effectively and efficiently with sales associates, customer service, warehouse, furniture prep, and delivery personnel to continuously improve delivery processes and procedures and exceed customer service expectations.

Requirements

  • Able to work 10+ hours a day at times and have the flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends with prolonged periods of standing.
  • Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Must possess great time management and organizational skills.
  • Professional with good communication skills and customer service experience
  • Knowledge of GPS equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Routing software and Dispatch Tracking software a plus.
  • Experience managing home delivery dispatching is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency and exceed customer service expectations.
  • Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and the ability to promote awareness.
  • Coach the delivery teams to safely handle furniture to prevent even exchanges.
  • Establishes schedules and provides continual training to team members with an emphasis on safety and service.
  • Interviews, hires, and assists in the training of new team members.
  • Appraises employee performance, communicates goals and expectations, provide honest feedback and coaches team members.
  • Addresses customer complaints and resolves problems as needed.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines and effectively prioritize and executes tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Communicates, leads, and develops teamwork with drivers and staff.
