About The Position

The Delivery Expert delivers orders by car to customers within a designated delivery area and may also deliver flyers and door hangers. The role combines delivery work with general store team member duties, including operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position offers a flexible schedule and opportunities for advancement, including into management.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Must have navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by telephone and in person.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and driving.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and sometimes adverse weather, and around food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car and carry them to the customer's door.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment.
• Stock ingredients and supplies from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Navigate delivery areas, including adverse terrain, multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites.
