About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within an assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns as needed. The work includes operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle and equipment, loading and unloading merchandise, documenting deliveries, and communicating with customers and store or field sales personnel. Delivery routes are driven in all weather and road conditions.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Possess the physical and mental stamina to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
• Be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Be able to operate job-related equipment safely, properly, efficiently, and accurately.
• Be able to lift and move large, bulky, or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Have strong time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Have strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and customers.
• Read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Successfully complete all required training.
• Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience with a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, or forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• DOT Medical Card, as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries and meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the delivery vehicle is safe and ready.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and document any issues.
• Communicate with customers about deliveries, updates, and concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with field sales and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
