About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within an assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a strong customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns as needed. The position involves driving in all weather and road conditions, operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle and related equipment, and working with store personnel and field sales teams to meet customer needs.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Have the physical and mental stamina to move through store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
• Be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Be able to lift and move large, bulky, or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Operate job-related equipment safely, efficiently, properly, and accurately.
• Use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Have strong time-management skills and meet tight deadlines.
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and customers.
• Read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Successfully complete required training.
• Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• Obtain a DOT Medical Card when required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience using a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, or forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and document issues.
• Communicate with customers about delivery updates or concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with the field sales team and store personnel to satisfy customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
