About The Position

The Delivery Driver position involves operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing product, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, and cleaning the facility. Drivers are responsible for navigating to customer locations, delivering product, and potentially distributing flyers. This role requires strong communication and essential skills, including accurate mathematical calculations, verbal and written communication, and computer/touch screen order entry. The job involves working in various conditions, including different temperatures, potential exposure to food odors and dust, and handling hot surfaces and sharp objects. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying items, pushing/pulling equipment, occasional climbing, bending, crouching, and reaching. Driving is a primary function, requiring navigation within a designated area and to customer doors. Hand tasks involve continuous use of hands for various manipulations, including shaping dough and assembling boxes. Team members may use tools such as pencils, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutters, and pizza peels.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Must have access to an insured vehicle which can be used for delivery.
  • Possess navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area.
  • Must be able to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Standing for most tasks.
  • Walking for short distances for short durations.
  • Lifting bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds).
  • Carrying large cans, pizza sauce, and trays of pizza dough.
  • Pushing to move trays on dollies.
  • Occasional climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Forward bending at the waist.
  • Crouching/squatting occasionally.
  • Reaching continuously (up, down, and forward).
  • Driving specific job duties.
  • Eye-hand coordination is essential.
  • Use of hands is continuous during the day.

  • Ability to grasp cans, phone, pizza cutter, pizza peel, and pizza boxes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area.
  • Deliver product by car and then to door of customer.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.
