About The Position

The Delivery Driver operates equipment, stocks and prepares ingredients and products, receives and processes orders, takes inventory, completes paperwork, and cleans equipment and the facility. The role delivers products by car to customers, distributes flyers and door hangers, and may perform other in-store duties. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position involves working in a restaurant environment with varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and occasional adverse weather. Work includes standing and walking, driving, carrying deliveries, lifting and stocking supplies, and navigating stairs or other delivery-site terrain. Physical activities may also include pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, crouching, and occasional climbing.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
Ability to understand and provide correct written instructions.
Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by phone and in person.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination to make rapid and accurate movements with the eyes, hands, and fingers.
Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the delivery area.
Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Ability to lift and handle supplies weighing up to 50 pounds and perform the physical activities described for the role.

Responsibilities

Operate all equipment.
Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
Prepare product.
Receive and process telephone orders.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area.
Deliver flyers and door hangers.
Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and stock supplies on shelves.
Navigate delivery sites, including stairs and other terrain, while carrying products.
