About The Position
Delaware Valley Floral Group is hiring a part-time casual delivery driver based at its Hauppauge, New York distribution facility. The driver safely and efficiently delivers fresh floral products to customers along assigned routes throughout Long Island and the five boroughs, helping ensure timely delivery, product quality, and a positive customer experience. The position involves operating a company refrigerated box truck, loading and unloading products, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and basic operational readiness, and working with warehouse staff to ensure order accuracy. Drivers use assigned routes and GPS or navigation tools and must follow company policies, safety standards, and DOT regulations. This is an onsite role with local travel. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays required. Start times are 2:00 AM on Mondays and 3:00 AM Tuesday through Friday, with work continuing until route completion. Work includes warehouse and refrigerated cooler environments at approximately 34°F, as well as extended driving periods. The role requires lifting, carrying, and moving products up to 60 pounds, along with frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing in and out of a delivery truck. The expected hourly rate is $21.50. Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This part-time position is not eligible for company-sponsored benefits. Potential quarterly safety incentive bonuses are available, with opportunities of up to $1,500 annually.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional driving experience operating commercial vehicles, including 16-foot box trucks or larger.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT Medical Certification; a CDL is not required.
- Acceptable driving record, subject to periodic review.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 60 pounds.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to use GPS and navigation tools for route management.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and hardworking approach.
- Availability Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays required.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
