About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and may make several deliveries per shift. The role also includes delivering flyers and door hangers. Drivers need navigational skills to locate addresses and must be able to handle delivery routes that include adverse terrain, private homes, multi-story buildings, and potentially five or more flights of stairs.

Team members also perform general store duties, including operating equipment; stocking ingredients and supplies; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The position involves extensive standing, walking, reaching, hand use, and occasional sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. Work may involve exposure to varying weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Possess navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
• Be able to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.
• Be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
• Have verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Be able to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Have the coordination and physical ability to perform the described duties, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, and climbing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment and prepare products.
• Stock ingredients and supplies from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Receive and process telephone orders and communicate with customers and co-workers in person and over the phone.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and move supplies to storage shelves.
• Navigate delivery routes and customer locations, including adverse terrain and stairs.
