About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers orders by car to customers within a designated delivery area, including carrying products from the vehicle to customers’ doors. Drivers may make several deliveries per shift and may also deliver flyers and door hangers. The role includes general store-team-member duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The work involves driving and navigating addresses and varied terrain, including private homes, multi-story buildings, and stairs. It also involves customer and coworker communication, order entry, handling money, and standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, and other repetitive physical tasks. Work may involve varying weather, changing temperatures, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped areas such as walk-in coolers.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Have navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and stairs, while carrying products.
• Be able to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers.
• Be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and take and process orders using verbal, writing, and telephone skills.
• Be able to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Have the motor coordination and eye-hand coordination needed to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
• Be able to perform the physical tasks described, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, reaching, and repetitive hand use.
• Be able to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within the designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment and stock ingredients and supplies from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products.
• Receive and process telephone orders and communicate with customers and coworkers in person and by phone.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Navigate delivery locations, including adverse terrain and multi-story buildings.
• Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and stock supplies.
