About The Position
The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers, doorhangers, and other marketing materials. The role also includes in-store duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, taking and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. Orientation and training are provided on the job. The position requires a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record that meets company standards, as well as access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries. Drivers must navigate to addresses in the designated delivery area, including adverse terrain, multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery locations. Physical duties include carrying products while walking and climbing, and navigating five or more flights of stairs may be required.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers in person and over the phone to process orders.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and use a calculator if needed.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise, rapid movements and use hands continuously during work.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Ability to lift and stock cases weighing up to 60 pounds, with dimensions up to 3 feet by 1.5 feet, onto shelves up to 72 inches high.
- Ability to carry products during delivery and perform walking and climbing duties, including potentially climbing five or more flights of stairs.
- Ability to stand for most tasks; walk short distances; and perform required bending, squatting, reaching, grasping, and other hand tasks.
- Ability to work around hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Far and night vision for driving; near- and mid-range vision and depth perception for in-store tasks; ability to distinguish hot from cold surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment and stock ingredients in delivery-area storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
- Prepare products.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
- Deliver company products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area; several deliveries may be made per shift.
- Deliver flyers, doorhangers, and other marketing materials.
- Unload ingredient and supply deliveries using a hand truck and stock cases on shelves.
- Use a map or other navigation skills to locate addresses and navigate delivery sites.
- Carry pizzas, sides, and beverages between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer locations.
