About The Position
Domino’s Pizza is hiring delivery drivers to deliver orders within a designated area. The position offers a flexible schedule and potential opportunities for advancement, including into management. Orientation and training are provided on the job. In addition to driving and delivering orders, team members perform general store duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, and preparing products. The role requires interacting with customers and co-workers, processing orders, handling payments, and completing physical tasks in the store and during deliveries. The work involves driving to customers’ homes and other delivery sites, carrying products while walking and climbing stairs, and working in a store environment with varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical tasks may include lifting and carrying supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, stocking shelves, pushing or pulling trays on dollies, and frequent reaching and hand use.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area, including navigating adverse terrain and multi-story buildings.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; may use a calculator.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Motor coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately; ability to enter orders using a keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Ability to carry products while walking and climbing stairs, including potentially navigating five or more flights during deliveries.
- Ability to lift and handle supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and frequent hand-use tasks.
- Ability to distinguish hot and cold surfaces; near-, mid-, far-, and night-vision capabilities as needed for store tasks and driving; depth perception; and ability to talk and hear on the telephone.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area; several deliveries may be made per shift.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Read maps, locate addresses, and navigate delivery sites, including adverse terrain and multi-story buildings.
- Operate store equipment and use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
- Stock ingredients and supplies from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
- Prepare products.
- Take and process orders by phone and in person; communicate with customers and co-workers.
- Handle monetary transactions and make correct change.
- Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and stock supplies.
- Perform other store tasks, including cleaning and occasional maintenance-related tasks.
