About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within an assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role is responsible for creating a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, delivering products safely, resolving problems, and handling returns as needed. The position involves operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle and related equipment, including a trailer at times, and coordinating with store personnel and the field sales team.

The role requires driving in all weather and road conditions. Team members may work near mechanical equipment in a moderately noisy environment and must be able to perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, driving, reaching overhead, and lifting more than 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Must be able to lift and move large, bulky, or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Must be able to operate equipment related to the job safely, properly, efficiently, and accurately.
• Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Must have time-management skills and be able to meet tight deadlines.
• Must have strong customer-service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and customers.
• Must be able to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Must be able to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Must successfully complete all required training.
• Must be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• DOT Medical Card as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience using a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, or forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer at times.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries and related issues.
• Communicate with customers about delivery updates and concerns.
• Provide exceptional customer service and a positive, friendly experience.
• Work with the field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
