About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within an assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns as needed. The position involves operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle and equipment, loading and unloading merchandise, inspecting the vehicle, communicating with customers and store personnel, and following safe driving practices. The role may require deliveries in all weather and road conditions and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least 3 years of driving experience.
• Must meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• DOT Medical Card as required.
• Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper material-handling equipment.
• Ability to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Ability to operate job-related equipment safely and accurately.
• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Ability to successfully complete required training.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience with a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer at times.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Keep accurate delivery records and document issues.
• Communicate with customers about delivery updates and concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
