About The Position
The Delivery Driver delivers orders within a designated area and performs general store team-member duties. The role requires navigating to customer addresses, including through adverse terrain and multi-story buildings, and using an insured vehicle. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Team duties include operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility approximately daily. The job involves communicating with customers and co-workers in person and by phone, processing orders, handling monetary change, and entering orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. Working conditions include exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather while taking out trash or performing other outside tasks. In-store temperatures range from 36 degrees in the cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes both inside and outside.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Must possess navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to understand and provide correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders in person and over the phone.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
