About The Position

River Valley Foods is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our growing transportation team. This position is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of frozen and dry food products to retail and warehouse customers. This position operates scheduled delivery routes Tuesday through Friday, with most routes returning home the same day; occasional overnight routes are required. On Saturdays, this position transitions to local yard operations at our Syracuse facilities, supporting trailer movement and overall yard efficiency. The ideal candidate is a dependable professional with strong driving skills, a commitment to safety and service, and experience handling food products in transit.

Requirements

3+ Years of Commercial Driving Experience
Valid CDL Class A license with air brake endorsement
Clean driving record: No preventable accidents within the last year, no DUIs or license suspensions over 30 days within the last 3 years (MVR score under 16)
Pass FMSCA-approved drug screening and pre-employment physical
Successfully complete written and on-road driving tests
Familiar with DOT regulations and food safety transport guidelines
Customer-focused with strong time management and communication skills
Detail-oriented and self-motivated
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold/freezer environments
Able to read/write in English and perform basic math calculations
Physically able to sit, stand, walk, climb, and lift daily

Responsibilities

Operate commercial delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
Load and unload products using electric/manual pallet jacks and hand trucks
Ensure proper handling and temperature control of frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods
Verify deliveries with customers and collect required documentation/signatures
Communicate professionally with dispatch and warehouse teams
Represent the company professionally and deliver excellent customer service
