About The Position
The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and may make several deliveries per shift. The role also includes delivering flyers and door hangers, processing customer orders, preparing products, stocking ingredients, taking inventory, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position requires safe driving, navigation of the delivery area and customer sites, and the ability to work in varying weather and store conditions. Team members perform a range of standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, reaching, and other physical tasks, as well as operating store equipment and communicating with customers and co-workers.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Must have navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Must be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, and make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Ability to perform the physical tasks described, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and driving.
- Ability to carry delivery products while walking and climbing, including navigating five or more flights of stairs when required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within the designated delivery area.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Operate store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
- Prepare products.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
- Navigate delivery routes, addresses, adverse terrain, and customer locations, including multi-story buildings.
- Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and move supplies to storage shelves.
