Delivery Driver (Rochester)
About The Position
Deliver product to our customers in a safe, professional, and courteous manner; including invoicing and picking up payments from customers as instructed. This role involves operating a vehicle, maintaining it, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and accurate deliveries. The driver will also be responsible for collecting payments, invoicing, and documenting all deliveries. Collaboration with sales teams may be required to meet customer expectations. The job also entails putting product away to company standards and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good record.
- Access to a reliable vehicle.
- Demonstrate good communication skills with high levels of professionalism.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.
- Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment.
- Able to use a handcart and pallet jack
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in related area preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate a vehicle and deliver assigned orders.
- Maintain vehicle by inspecting it before and after use, logging inspections, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain safe vehicle and conditions and protect load by complying with organization policies, procedures, highway rules and regulations.
- Maintain appearance of delivery truck by daily cleaning of the inside of the truck.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Collect payment from customers and reconcile the assigned load with receipts and delivery invoice.
- Properly invoice, collecting appropriate signature, and proper documentation of all deliveries.
- Perform duties in a safe manner by following established safety rules and regulations.
- Work with Salesmen and Merchandisers to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Properly deliver order, putting product away to company standards.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Conduct safe and responsible interactions with the public.
- Responsibly handle products.
- Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.
