Delivery Driver - For Hire Endorsement Required
About The Position
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections of vehicles and merchandise to ensure road safety. You will operate a flatbed truck or van to deliver tools and construction supplies to customers, planning efficient routes and adjusting for traffic or construction. Your duties will also include warehouse activities such as pulling orders for the next day, safely transporting merchandise, loading and unloading trucks, and preparing/maintaining records. Effective communication with management, co-workers, and customers is essential to resolve any delivery issues. You will also assist the warehouse team between deliveries.
Requirements
- One or more years of experience in a similar role.
- Valid driver’s license with the Indiana For Hire Endorsement and good driving record.
- Basic Computer skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds of customer product regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the construction or industrial supply industry is helpful.
- Quick learner and able to retain knowledge.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
- Diligent attention to safety and detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection of vehicle and merchandise to ensure road safety.
- Operate a flatbed truck or van delivering tools and other construction supplies to customers.
- Plan route to and from customers businesses and adjust for traffic and/or construction.
- Perform warehouse activities to handle deliveries and support the warehouse team, including pulling orders for the next day.
- Safely transport merchandise to customers in a timely, safe, and courteous manner.
- Load truck with daily merchandise to be delivered as well as unload merchandise for customer.
- Prepare and maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with management, co-workers and/or customers to resolve any delivery issues.
- Assist the warehouse team in between deliveries.
