About The Position

Magnolia Bakery is hiring a Delivery Driver to transport products and supplies from its distribution center to New York City bakeries and to other vendors and customers in the tri-state area. The driver uses a company vehicle and is responsible for delivering items safely, on time, and in standard condition while supporting a safe and sanitary food service environment and upholding Magnolia Bakery’s values and quality standards. The role includes completing delivery paperwork, accounting for all items on transfers and purchase orders, and maintaining and inspecting the company vehicle. Drivers must follow applicable New York City commercial vehicle and traffic laws, including parking requirements, and follow Magnolia Bakery’s good manufacturing practices when in the production facility. The position works approximately 40 hours per week and requires availability on weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Active, valid driver’s license.
Previous driver experience.
Dependability.
Clean and professional appearance.
Knowledge of NYC/DOT rules, including parking and lane restrictions, truck-only and passenger-car-only routes, traffic signals, pedestrian right of way, seat belt use, cell phone restrictions, and speed limits.
Familiarity with the NYC area, including the outer boroughs.
Good driving record: no license revocation or suspension due to moving violations, reckless driving, criminal convictions, driving without a license, failure to report an accident or making a false report, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or open-container violations.
No more than one moving violation or one accident in the past three years.
Ability to stand for a minimum of eight hours; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; and bend and reach overhead.
Ability to grasp, write, stand, sit, walk, perform repetitive motions, actively listen, and maintain visual acuity.
Ability to interpret visual aids, one-point lessons, standard operating procedures, processes and procedures, and quality and safety standards.
Manual dexterity to use and operate necessary equipment.
Availability to work approximately 40 hours per week, including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

Use a company vehicle to deliver baked goods, merchandise, supplies, and other requested items to NYC bakeries and customers.
Ensure products arrive safely, on time, and in standard condition.
Complete delivery documentation, including proof of delivery, purchase orders, and receipts.
Account for all items and deliver them as specified for each transfer or purchase order.
Maintain the company vehicle by cleaning and organizing it, storing items properly, and refueling as needed.
Inspect the vehicle before and after each shift, including tire pressure, mileage, fuel level, and other service needs.
Follow NYC commercial vehicle and traffic laws, including determining appropriate parking procedures and using commercial Muni Meters when needed.
Follow Magnolia Bakery’s good manufacturing practices while in the production facility.
Communicate across functions with coworkers and management.
Follow policies and procedures in Magnolia Bakery manuals and work within the expectations and boundaries of the role.
