Delivery Driver (flexible availibility needed)
About The Position
The Delivery Driver transports products and supplies from a distribution center to Magnolia Bakery locations in New York City and to vendors and other customers within the tri-state area. The role uses a company vehicle to deliver baked goods, merchandise, supplies, and other requested items, ensuring deliveries arrive safely, on time, and in standard condition. The driver completes and verifies delivery documentation and items, maintains and inspects the vehicle, and follows applicable traffic, parking, and food-safety requirements. The position requires approximately 40 hours per week and availability to work weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Active, valid driver’s license.
- Previous driving experience.
- Good driving record, free of the listed serious violations and with no more than one moving violation or one accident in the past three years.
- Knowledge of NYC and DOT rules, including parking and lane restrictions, truck-only and passenger-car-only routes, traffic signals, pedestrian right of way, seat belt use, cell phone restrictions, and speed limits.
- Familiarity with New York City, including the outer boroughs.
- Dependability.
- Clean and professional appearance.
- Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week and availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand for at least eight hours and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, bend, and reach overhead.
- Ability to grasp, write, stand, sit, walk, perform repetitive motions, actively listen, and use visual acuity.
- Ability to interpret visual aids, one-point lessons, standard operating procedures, process and procedure materials, and quality and safety standards.
- Manual dexterity to use and operate necessary equipment.

Responsibilities
- Deliver baked goods, merchandise, supplies, and other requested items to NYC bakeries and other customers using a company vehicle.
- Ensure products arrive safely, on time, and in standard condition.
- Complete delivery documentation, including proof of delivery, purchase orders, and receipts.
- Account for all items and deliver them as specified for each transfer or purchase order.
- Clean, organize, store, and refuel the company vehicle as necessary.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after each shift, including tire pressure, mileage, and fuel level, and identify other service needs.
- Follow NYC commercial vehicle and traffic laws.
- Determine and follow appropriate parking instructions, including use of commercial Muni Meters to avoid parking tickets.
- Comply with Magnolia Bakery good manufacturing practices while in the production facility.
- Follow policies and procedures in Magnolia Bakery manuals and work within the expectations and boundaries of the role.
- Communicate across functions with coworkers and management.
