About The Position

The Delivery Driver safely drives a Graybar truck or van from the warehouse to customer destinations, delivering orders on time while providing good customer service. The role involves face-to-face customer contact, maintaining positive customer relations, relaying customer feedback, and promoting Graybar services and products. Drivers work a local route and return home each night; the schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A CDL is not required, but candidates must pass a DOT medical exam and Commercial Motor Vehicle Certification. Steel-toed boots are required.

Requirements

• Customer service skills.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of work in a warehouse environment and pass pre-employment physical testing.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Experience driving a van or truck with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 26,000 pounds or less.
• A valid driver's license issued by the driver's state of residence and appropriate for the vehicle type.
• Ability to pass a DOT medical exam and Commercial Motor Vehicle Certification.
• Steel-toed boots are required.

Responsibilities

• Help determine the best delivery routes to meet customer expectations.
• Deliver products to Graybar customers while providing excellent customer service.
• Load and unload trucks using warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Inspect the vehicle and supplies.
• Safely operate the vehicle at all times.
• Maintain proper truck logs.
• Work a local route with no overnight stays or weekends away.
• Maintain positive customer relations, pass along customer feedback, and promote services and products.
