About The Position

American Welding & Gas Inc. has an immediate opening for a Class B CDL Delivery Driver in Baytown, Texas. The position requires a Class B CDL with HazMat and Airbrakes endorsements, or the ability to obtain both endorsements.

The driver loads, unloads, moves, and stores gas and liquid cylinders and other hard goods; makes deliveries to customers or other branches; and completes delivery tickets accurately. The role also requires following Standard Operating Procedures and DOT and OSHA regulations, maintaining the vehicle, and completing relevant shipping and delivery paperwork.

The position involves frequently lifting 50–75 pounds and maneuvering cylinders weighing 100 pounds or more, using methods such as rolling or a cart. Applicants must complete a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, background assessment, and company-administered road test.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Class B CDL with HazMat and Airbrakes endorsements, or the ability to obtain both endorsements.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; frequently lift 50–75 pounds and maneuver cylinders weighing 100 pounds or more.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, background assessment, and company-administered road test.
• Ability to communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move, and store gas and liquid cylinders and other hard goods.
• Deliver products to customers or other branches.
• Complete delivery tickets fully and accurately.
• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Comply with DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Move, load, and unload empty and full cylinders safely and efficiently.
• Prepare and complete paperwork accurately, including shipping papers and delivery tickets.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
