About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers pizzas within a designated delivery area and may make several deliveries per shift. The role also includes customer service and in-store duties: operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, using company technology, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility approximately daily. Team members are responsible for on-the-job training related to new products and must communicate effectively with customers and coworkers in person and by phone.

The position involves working in varying temperatures and weather conditions, including a walk-in cooler, hot work areas, and outdoor tasks. It requires standing and walking for much of the workday, handling and carrying supplies and food products, using hands continuously for food preparation and other tasks, and driving between the store and customer locations. Delivery routes may involve climbing five or more flights of stairs.

Requirements

• Good communication skills, including verbal, writing, and telephone skills for taking and processing orders.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
• Ability to make correct monetary change.
• Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to work independently and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to stand and walk for much of the workday and travel between the store, vehicle, and customer locations.
• Ability to lift and handle cases weighing up to 50 pounds and carry food and supplies, including pizzas, sides, and beverages.
• Ability to navigate stairs during deliveries; five or more flights may be required.
• Ability to use hands continuously and perform tasks requiring grasping, reaching, bending, and forceful hand and wrist use.
• Ability to work around varying and sometimes adverse weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare products.

• Deliver pizzas within the designated delivery area, traveling between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer locations.
• Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and move supplies to storage shelves.
