About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers company products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and may make several deliveries per shift. The role also includes distributing flyers, doorhangers, and other marketing materials. Drivers need to navigate to customer addresses and delivery sites, including multi-story buildings and private homes, and carry products while walking and climbing stairs.

Other store duties include operating equipment; stocking ingredients and supplies; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing related paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility approximately daily. Orientation and training are provided on the job.

The job involves extensive standing and continuous hand use, along with lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, bending, and occasional climbing or crouching. Deliveries may involve carrying products and navigating five or more flights of stairs. Work may expose the employee to adverse weather, varying temperatures, food odors, commercial dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

• Valid driver license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Ability to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers in person and by telephone.
• Ability to perform arithmetic accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and take and process orders using verbal, writing, and telephone skills.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to stand for most tasks and perform the described lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, bending, crouching, and climbing duties; delivery may require climbing five or more flights of stairs.
• Ability to lift delivery cases weighing up to 60 pounds and handle the other carrying and movement tasks described.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Motor coordination, eye-hand coordination, and the ability to make rapid, precise movements with speed.
• Far and night vision for driving; near and mid-range vision and depth perception for in-store tasks; ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces.
