About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers within a designated delivery area, including carrying orders from the vehicle to the customer’s door. Drivers may make several deliveries per shift and also deliver flyers and door hangers. The role includes general store-team duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The work involves driving in varying weather and navigating delivery sites that may include private homes, multi-story buildings, and stairs. Store conditions include changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. The position requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, and hand use, as well as occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, crouching, and climbing. Bulk deliveries may involve cases weighing up to 50 pounds; delivery duties include carrying pizzas and beverages.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Must be able to read a map, locate addresses in the delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers by phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to perform precise, rapid motor movements with eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the physical duties described, including standing, walking, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and climbing.
• Must be able to carry delivery products while walking and climbing, including navigating five or more flights of stairs when required.
• Must be able to lift and unload cases weighing up to 50 pounds.
