About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within an assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns as required.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Have the physical and mental stamina to move quickly and safely through the store and outdoor areas.
• Be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Be able to operate job-related equipment safely, properly, efficiently, and accurately.
• Be able to lift and move large, bulky, or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Be able to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Have strong time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Have strong customer-service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Be able to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Successfully complete required training.
• Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• A DOT Medical Card is required as applicable.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience using a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries, meeting or exceeding scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and document issues.
• Communicate with customers about delivery updates and concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with the field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
