About The Position

Reporting to the Distribution Center Manager, the Delivery Driver is responsible for driving and operating a Delivery van and straight truck, as well as moving and hauling cargo between customer locations upon assignment from the Distribution Center Manager. Delivery Drivers are essential to the overall operation of the business. When Delivery Drivers are not needed for delivery, drivers assist with various job duties within the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Entry Level work experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Driver’s License with Chauffeur’s endorsement and clean driving record (must be obtained upon hire).
  • Ability to pass a DOT Medical Exam and obtain a 1-Year Card.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including but not limited to computerized bar code scanners, printers, and standard warehouse equipment, tools, machines, and vehicles.
  • Basic math and reasoning skills.
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • Good verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under the direction of a Supervisor or Leader.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization.
  • Know when to request assistance, especially when lifting heavy objects.
  • Frequent sitting, driving, and getting in and out of a vehicle.
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be on your feet for 8 hours a day.
  • Occasional climbing, bending, stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Occasional reaching, twisting, and pushing.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial wholesale distribution experience.
  • Local delivery driving experience.
  • CDL Class B License.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally interact with customers during deliveries.
  • Follow safe work habits and established safety procedures.
  • Drive product to various customer locations.
  • Load and unload trucks according to established procedures.
  • Complete daily shipping paperwork.
  • Accurately identify and count inventory in assigned areas.
  • Learn how to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, etc.
  • Participate in ongoing general housekeeping of the warehouse.
  • Check assigned equipment for proper functionality and communicate issues to the Distribution Center Manager.
  • Maintain daily logbook activities.
  • Participate in safety initiatives.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other warehouse tasks as assigned.
