About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers within a designated delivery area, including carrying orders from the vehicle to the customer’s door. Drivers may also deliver flyers and door hangers and may make several deliveries per shift. The role includes general store team-member duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The job requires navigating to addresses and handling delivery routes and conditions that may include adverse weather, private homes, multi-story buildings, and five or more flights of stairs. Store work involves exposure to varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical tasks include standing and walking, lifting and carrying supplies and products, pushing or pulling trays on dollies, climbing, bending, crouching, and frequent reaching and hand use.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
Have navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
Be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
Be able to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
Be able to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
Have verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Have the motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
Be able to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Be able to perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Be able to perform the described physical tasks, including lifting deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds, carrying products, pushing or pulling trays, and navigating stairs during deliveries.

Responsibilities

Deliver products by car within the designated delivery area and carry them to customers’ doors.
