About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring products are delivered safely, resolving problems, and handling returns as needed. The position requires driving in all weather and road conditions and working near mechanical equipment.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Meet the DOT Medical Card requirement, as applicable.
• Have the stamina and ability to move through store and outdoor areas safely and quickly.
• Be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with proper material-handling equipment.
• Be able to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Operate job-related equipment safely, efficiently, properly, and accurately.
• Use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Have strong time-management skills and meet tight deadlines.
• Have strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and customers.
• Read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Successfully complete required training.
• Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience with a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries, meeting or exceeding scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries and related issues.
• Communicate with customers about delivery updates and concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with field sales team members and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
