About The Position

This role involves operating all necessary equipment, stocking ingredients from delivery area storage, preparing products, and receiving/processing telephone orders. The position also requires taking inventory, completing associated paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. Training is provided on the job. The role demands strong communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and give written instructions, and to verbally communicate with customers and co-workers. Essential skills include accurate and quick arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), making correct monetary change, verbal, writing, and telephone skills for order processing, and motor coordination for precise movements. Computer proficiency for order entry via keyboard or touch screen is also necessary. The work environment involves exposure to varying weather conditions, in-store temperature fluctuations (36 to 90+ degrees Fahrenheit), food odors, commercial dust, cramped quarters (including a walk-in cooler), hot surfaces/tools (up to 500+ degrees Fahrenheit), sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensing requirements include talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments required include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions. The job requires standing for most tasks, with walking in short distances. Sitting is primarily for paperwork. Lifting involves unloading deliveries weighing up to 60 pounds and stacking cases up to 72 inches high. Carrying includes items like pizza sauce (30 pounds) and trays of pizza dough (12 pounds each). Pushing is required for moving trays on dollies. Climbing stairs or ladders may be necessary for maintenance or sign changes. Stooping/bending is needed at the pizza assembly station and front counter. Crouching/squatting is performed occasionally for stocking and cleaning. Reaching (up, down, and forward) is continuous for various tasks, including oven controls and stocking shelves. Hand tasks require eye-hand coordination and continuous use of hands, including forceful use of forearms and wrists for dough shaping, and pinching for box assembly. Tools and equipment may include pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutters, and pizza peels. Additionally, the role requires delivering product by car to customer doors, delivering flyers and marketing materials, and possessing a valid driver's license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle for delivery. Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses are essential, as is the ability to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings and various delivery sites while carrying product. During delivery, carrying pizzas, sides, and beverages is required, along with walking to and from the store and delivery vehicle. Climbing up to five or more flights of stairs may be necessary. The work conditions include exposure to varying weather conditions during delivery and couponing, and require far and night vision for driving.
