About The Position

The Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker is primarily responsible for delivering merchandise to customer locations and job sites, as well as for picking up returned goods. The position of Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker will also be responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • General knowledge of warehouse procedures and ability to operate material handling equipment in a safe manner.
  • Clean driving record with ability to pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements.
  • Prior experience safely driving stake bed trucks and other large vehicles.
  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving, and demonstrated ability to operate assigned vehicles.
  • Excellent attendance record required.

  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.
  • Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

  • Occasionally required to sit, climb and balance.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Prior HVAC experience a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Planning delivery routes to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
  • Performing a variety of duties in the delivery of orders to customer locations and jobsites.
  • Securing and delivering 10,000 lb. coils on a stake bed or semi-trailer.
  • Obtaining or pulling material to fill pick tickets from storage yard and warehouse. Verifying quantities and items being shipped against the invoice. Loading merchandise into the company vehicle.
  • Delivering merchandise to the appropriate customers using the company vehicle. Also responsible for ensuring that delivery receipt is signed by the customer.
  • Picking up merchandise returns from customers. Also responsible for inspecting the condition of the merchandise and verifying quantities and catalog numbers.
  • Maintaining assigned equipment in clean condition. Performing routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and referring defects or necessary repairs to supervisor.
  • Verifying the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing lists and purchase orders.
  • Delivering merchandise to customer locations and job sites. Also responsible for picking up returned goods.
  • Maintaining an excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to transport, gather, distribute and stock material in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned, including additional warehouse responsibilities.
