About The Position

New England Lab is a full-service specialty sub-contractor that has been providing laboratory furniture systems to leading universities, biotech, government, industrial, and medical research facilities for over 30 years. We are committed to delivering a high level of customer service and aim to be the preferred laboratory furniture vendor. The Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver will be responsible for shipping, receiving, and daily deliveries of laboratory furniture products to customers in the Carolina’s region. This role involves marking, tracking, and communicating incoming and outgoing goods while maintaining an organized warehouse. As a representative of New England Lab, professionalism, courtesy, and a positive problem-solving attitude are expected. This is a full-time, hourly position with typical hours of 7 am – 4 pm, which may vary based on workload and scheduling as communicated by the Field Operations Coordinator. The position requires early start times to meet delivery schedules and includes deliveries to active construction sites and city environments.

Requirements

Experience driving 18-26’ box trucks
Safe, clean driving record (Employment contingent on clean Background Check and Driving Record).
Must be able to obtain DOT medical card
Experience operating a fork truck in a warehouse setting or fork truck certification
Experience with early starts to your work day
Experience delivering in downtown city environments and active construction sites
Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions
Must be able to bend, lift, and carry 50+ pounds using proper lifting techniques
Able to provide the highest level customer service
Dependable
Able to effectively manage and prioritize information, schedules and people
Basic computer skills required (MS Word & Excel)
Ability to lift products, packages, and equipment weighing up to and exceeding 50 pounds, using proper OSHA lifting techniques.
Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures and travel daily as needed.

Nice To Haves

Fork lift certification a plus
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 a plus.

Responsibilities

Store items in an orderly manner in warehouse
Examine and inspect materials for damage or defects upon arrival
Verify the contents of deliveries against bill of lading and packing slips.
Check and note all damages or missing items on bill of lading
Schedule, plan and communicate deliveries and shipments with the Project Management and Installation team
Read and prepare work orders, packing slips and other paperwork as necessary
Maintain tracking for incoming and outgoing material and warehouse inventory
Load/Unload material at job sites within the Carolina region
Perform routine safety inspection of vehicle and equipment
Inventory and maintain an adequate supply of installation material and product in our warehouse
Assist North Carolina office with office supplies and materials as needed
Provide outstanding customer service to clients, project managers, and other subcontractors on the job
Assist/conduct inside deliveries or installations as required
Move product and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles and containers by hand or utilizing fork trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely handle, load and unload material
Assembly, palletizing, crating of product as needed
Locate, organize, QC, assemble and package material for deliveries or shipments
