About The Position

As a member of our delivery team, you are the final and most personal connection between Smitty’s and the families we serve. Working from our Hanover warehouse and delivery fleet, you will bring quality furniture, mattresses, and appliances into customers’ homes across roughly 100 km of surrounding service area, handling every piece with care and setting it up exactly the way our customers pictured it. This is hands-on, physical work, and it matters: a smooth, friendly delivery is often the moment a customer decides they will shop with us again. Requirements

  • A valid Ontario Class G driver’s license.
  • Willingness to agree to an Ontario Driver’s Abstract record check.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • A self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Willingness and ability to be trained in WHMIS, Workplace Violence & Harassment, AODA, and Safety Awareness Training.
  • Physical capability for the demands of the role, including walking, carrying, lifting, pushing, gripping, bending, climbing stairs, squatting, kneeling, body twisting, and standing, with lifting weights that vary.
  • Availability to work shifts of varying hours, including Saturdays.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in driving, delivery, or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and work alongside delivery partners to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of all products, always with an exceptional customer service attitude.
  • Safely and efficiently move products to and from our trucks and into the customer’s home.
  • Provide in-home set-up and assembly of furniture and appliances, including removal of packaging and arranging products in line with customer requests.
  • Complete warehousing work, including locating, picking, offloading, receiving, and loading trucks, and removing debris.
  • Communicate efficiently with other departments when service solutions are required.
  • Provide assistance and backup for the warehouse when required.
  • Follow all company employment, health, and safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
