About The Position

As a Parts Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of parts, tools, and equipment to our other locations and customers, which include repair shops, dealerships, and body shops. You will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive the parts they need to keep their operations running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle operated and keep it with them at all times while operating the vehicle.
  • Abide by the Company Vehicle Driving Guidelines.
  • Make between 16 and 18 deliveries and pickups per day, comprised of at least four runs (quantity depends on assigned routes).
  • Drivers are solely responsible for making complete, accurate deliveries, regardless of assistance received at the dealership.
  • Drivers must have communication devices on and be reachable.
  • Ensure all pertinent paperwork is signed when transacting directly with the customer.
  • Obtain approval from the Leadman (day hours) or back counter (off-hours) before leaving parts if payment is made by check.
  • Drivers will use the “Houston Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star Route Sheet” and fill it out correctly and completely.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and timely deliver parts, tools, and equipment to other locations and customers.
  • Ensure customers receive the parts they need to keep their operations running smoothly.
  • Place parts where the customer wants them in their facility.
  • Cheerfully accept and perform any reasonable request from customers.
  • Check every order against the invoice for accuracy.
  • Bring any incorrect part numbers and/or missing parts to the Dispatcher’s attention.
  • Pick up dirty cores from customer facilities each time a delivery is made, if cores are available.
  • Tag cores before pickup.
  • Give all returns to the Warehouse Manager or designate.
  • Ensure communication devices are on and drivers are reachable.
  • Ensure all pertinent paperwork, including invoice and credit card information, are signed when transacting directly with the customer.
  • Call the dealership for check approval before leaving parts if payment is made by check.
  • Use and correctly fill out the “Houston Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star Route Sheet” and turn it into the dispatcher or their designate.
  • Assist in picking parts for the next set of deliveries while in the warehouse.
  • Assist in warehouse work if there are no pending deliveries.
