About The Position

This role is responsible for coordinating daily pickup and delivery priorities, executing pickups and deliveries using a company box truck, verifying materials and maintaining chain of custody, accurately using SAP EWM and RF devices for inventory movements, ensuring proper load securement and product protection, complying with safety and regulatory requirements, providing leadership and training to delivery drivers, resolving operational issues, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to continuous improvement. The position also involves providing hands-on coverage during absences or peak demand.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of delivery driving, material handling, warehouse, distribution, logistics, or related experience, including demonstrated responsibility for coordinating work or mentoring others.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL/ Chauffer preferred) and ability to meet company driving and motor vehicle record requirements for the assigned vehicle class.
  • Working knowledge of safe vehicle operation, load securement, material verification, delivery documentation, and professional customer or site interaction.
  • Experience using RF scanners, mobile devices, a warehouse management system, transportation system, or similar inventory technology.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret item numbers, handling-unit labels, batch or lot information, quantities, addresses, pickup instructions, and shipping or receiving documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills, including the ability to reprioritize work when conditions change.
  • Ability to work independently while providing clear daily direction and constructive coaching to others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) within SAP S/4HANA.
  • Lead experience in delivery, warehouse, manufacturing support, or distribution operations.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing, food safety, life sciences, or quality-controlled environment.
  • Current forklift or powered industrial truck authorization and commercial driver's license or other transportation credential when required for the assigned equipment or route.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily pickup and delivery priorities based on operational needs, available drivers, vehicle capacity, location schedules, and material urgency.
  • Communicate assignments, route changes, delays, and completion status to drivers and warehouse leadership.
  • Transport materials, inventory, and operational supplies between warehouse locations using a company box truck while ensuring safe driving practices, compliance with DOT and company requirements, accurate documentation of transferred materials, and timely delivery.
  • Verify item numbers, handling units, batch or lot information, quantities, labels, seals, temperature or special-handling requirements when applicable, and accompanying paperwork.
  • Maintain control and traceability of materials from pickup through documented handoff.
  • Use SAP S/4HANA EWM, RF devices, and approved records to support warehouse transfers, receiving, staging, delivery confirmation, and other authorized inventory movements.
  • Ensure physical movement and system status remain aligned; investigate or escalate discrepancies before material is released.
  • Inspect loads for damage, stability, segregation, labeling, and compatibility.
  • Ensure materials are safely loaded, secured, protected from contamination or adverse conditions, and transported in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections; operate vehicles safely; follow traffic laws, defensive-driving practices, site rules, PPE requirements, dock and yard procedures, and applicable transportation requirements.
  • Promptly report accidents, near misses, vehicle concerns, spills, damage, or unsafe conditions.
  • Provide daily direction, job instruction, coaching, and onboarding support for delivery drivers.
  • Reinforce approved routes, documentation standards, SAP/RF processes, customer-service expectations, safe driving, load handling, and escalation procedures.
  • Serve as the first operational contact for missed pickups, site access issues, incorrect material, damaged product, documentation gaps, vehicle breakdowns, and schedule conflicts.
  • Contain the issue, protect the material, notify the appropriate stakeholders, and support timely resolution.
  • Partner with Warehouse Operations, Shipping and Receiving, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Purchasing, Security, and external location contacts to support efficient material flow and accurate handoffs.
  • Track recurring delays, route inefficiencies, documentation errors, and material-handling risks.
  • Recommend practical improvements and provide hands-on coverage during absences, peak demand, or urgent business needs.
