This is an Operations position responsible for overseeing the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance activities associated with Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and maintenance of industrial batteries. The role involves performing moderate supervisory duties when higher-level management is unavailable, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring the fleet's availability for operations teams. The position requires strong decision-making skills, clear communication, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures. The technician will be proficient in electrical meter testing, knowledgeable in controls and various electrical systems (AC/DC low voltage), and skilled in troubleshooting PLCs, motors, motor starters, contactors, and relays. Responsibilities include completing electrical repairs, welding projects, and performing preventive maintenance on power MHE, including fluid checks, belt/chain adjustments, electrical control troubleshooting, and motor/control replacements. The role also requires knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems, assisting battery technicians with charger repairs, battery changes, and maintenance, participating in an on-call program, and logging all time and materials into the CMMS. Housekeeping of maintenance areas, tool maintenance, adherence to safety requirements, and responding to emergencies are also key aspects of the job. The technician will champion safety, comply with regulations, and interact effectively with colleagues.
