About The Position

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 27 branches throughout the United States. We are growing and currently seeking a Delivery Driver/Backup Warehouse Associate to join our team! In this role, your primary responsibility will be delivering materials—primarily hardwood lumber, hardware, and related supplies. When not on deliveries, you’ll support warehouse operations by assisting with receiving, unloading, storing materials, and picking and loading products to fulfill customer orders. Requirements

  • Must have CDL B and forklift certification
  • Must have a history of being a truck driver, delivery driver, and possess a valid CDL B.
  • Must be a certified forklift operator.
  • Strong physical stamina — this role requires a lot of physical activity.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated — you should be a self-starter who doesn’t require constant supervision.
  • Experienced driver with a Class B driver's license (or CDL A) and medical card
  • Able to pass drug test, background, Clearinghouse and motor vehicle pre-employment screen
  • Required to pass a driving test.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination as required by the U. S. Department of Transportation and provide a valid medical card

Responsibilities

  • 85% of your time will be spent delivering products and awesome service
  • 15% of your time could potentially be spent working in the warehouse on days when delivery routes are not full
  • Use your CDL B license to deliver products using a curtain-side box truck
  • Be willing and able to assist in unloading products when needed by customers, within reason, while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Work safely, attend safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and policies
  • Offload trucks with materials from our vendor, and load trucks with product to ship to our customers.
  • Operate a forklift; forklift operator experience and certification are a must!
  • Ensure that material loaded for delivery matches customer orders.
  • Lift extremely heavy, awkward products (up to 50-100 pounds with a helper) repeatedly to store and load onto a truck.
